Finally, a book about a wealthy man who built up an empire who I can readily identify with regarding ethics among the issue of economics. The contrasts between Westinghouse, J.P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, and others during the Gilded Age was apparent, and Westinghouse came out heads and shoulders above the others. I would have give this book 5 Stars, but the poor formatting made for a difficult read in some places. Still, an excellent book about an excellent man.

My dad would have liked the "lower and longer" sneer that partially encapsulated Harley Earl's approach to the styling of GM cars over the years (especially the 1950s). He always added "and lovelier" to the "L and L". Harley Earl gave the public something it thought it wanted to buy year after year, part of a corporate policy that wasn't called "planned obsolescence" but definitely was.
