Review # 1 was written on 2020-07-18 00:00:00 Dylan Metzger This is a fantastic book - it takes a scientific approach to the training of horses, discussing learning behaviour and the mechanisms behind how the horse is able to learn what we ask of it. It covers so much, biomechanics, ethics, welfare, as well as training methods, that you come out of the end of it feeling as if you have truly learnt something. I would highly recommend it and I'm sure it will do the rounds at the stables before I can read it again. One to keep on the bookshelf.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-11-07 00:00:00 Craig Parnaby The basics of learning theory as it applies to horses are simply explained and broken down into easily digestible pieces. It is only later in the book, when the authors get more technical, that it can become difficult for the layperson to fully understand. Nonetheless, Equitation Science is a necessary book for anyone concerned with horse welfare in any capacity. I highly recommend it.
