Phew, I finally did it, I completed this behemoth of environmental history and I loved it. It was trouble for me though, as I've added at least fifty new books to my to-read list as a result. This book is comprised of various essays, literature reviews basically, that pertain to different aspects of domestic and international environmental history. This book was recommended to me as part of my studies and it will not only help me on my paper, but has given me a few ideas about future papers I'd like to write. While all of the essays were fantastic, a few of my favorites included; Fire by Stephen J. Pyne, Oceans: Fusing the history of science and technology with environmental history by Helen m. Rozwadowski, The global economical reach of the United States: Exporting capital and importing commodities by Richard P. Tucker and a fascinating one titled "Most Fruitful Results"; Trans-border approaches to Canadian-American Environmental History by Ted Binnema.

Excellent anthology on American enviro hist as practiced today and across the 20th century. Will use to supplement lectures. Nice essays on food and ag studies, flora, gender, etc. Awesome for its historiography on all the sub-realms of environmetal history: will go back to this when beginning any new project.
