Review # 1 was written on 2013-06-09 00:00:00 Calvin Woolfolk I picked up this book at the bookstore at Olana, Frederick Church's estate on the Hudson, wanting to learn more about his desire to see exotic places and paint them. Nice pictures, but the commentary described rather than probing Church's enterprise.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-07-15 00:00:00 David Esfandi This is a great, although narrow look at Mexican iconography. If you're looking for luchadors or Dia de los Muertos, this book is exactly where you want to be.
