A Walk in the Boreal Forest by Rebecca L. Johnson 1. Genre: Informational 2. A Walk in the Boreal Forest is a beautifully done non-fiction book that describes this habitat in a way that keeps children engaged and intrigued. 3. a. Area for Comment: Organization b. My 7 year old daughter snatched this book out of my pile of new books to review from the library. She took about 45 minutes and read the entire book. There is a perfect balance of artful photography and interesting text, captions, and fact boxes. c. Most of the boreal forest animals described in the book have a descriptive paragraph, a real life photograph, and an interesting fact noted in the sidebar. I think this type of organization is perfect for a youth non-fiction book that is backed with so many details.

Good book, but contains 2 errors on 2 animals that live in the boreal forest biome. Working on notifying publisher.
