Well, for starters the title is completely misleading. There are 1,000 paragraphs ( yes, they are numbered 1,2,3,etc) only about a dozen or so could be considered even juicy tidbits much less SECRETS. The book is divided up into chapters for each country or wine region - then the author throws pretty interesting (but somewhat random) info on wines, wine making, etc. in each numbered paragraph. Shame on the author for not mentioning wines and vineyards in the great state of Texas. The three stars is because this is worth reading for the data - the book is stuffed with all kinds of nuts and bolts info for anyone interested in the world if wine.

Unaware of his wine work (& labels) until finding this on display at the Westport library. Will happily revisit. (How DOES he make that exploding ink effect?) Inspired by Goya's war art. (mutilation, decapitation, impaling...Library etchings)
