Must have. Covers everything from shock, heart attacks, to making and using a tourniquet. Very organized with simple instructions for immediate response. There's nothing worse than not knowing how to help someone in need of medical attention. Coincidentally for fun I read the part on fainting but ended up treating a family member the next day when she passed out on the kitchen floor.

Overall I was disappointed by the lack of information pertaining to certain subject. There simply was not as much information as there could have been in some areas. However, what information is presented is gloriously informative and educational. I highly suggest reading this book at least once in your lifetime. If anything, it could most certainly help you save a life or respond better in emergency situations if it was ever a necessity- doubly so for those who have no idea how to respond to a medical emergency, or who otherwise have no training or knowledge outside of the base basic situations concerning the standard bumps, cuts, and bruises. Indeed, I do fully believe that this book is an absolute necessity for any household book shelf.
