Despite the novel proceeding slowly , I find myself breezing through it. This volume focuses a lot more on Clarissa and introduces a few more characters. It blows my mind that this is an epistolary novel and I'm quite surprised that I like it .

Something in this volume recaptured me, where the last couple had lost me a little. I think part of it is a new focus on Clarissa as a character, rather than just a dialogue between Lovelace and Belford. Equally, there is a new cast of characters to get to know. This novel is very long, and the plot itself advances very slowly, as I suppose is inevitable for an epistolary novel of this nature. Nevertheless, the language itself, ornate as it is, is enjoyable, and equally the exploration of the characters, comes more into focus in this volume.
