Review # 1 was written on 2011-08-31 00:00:00 March Villamayor riveting... Actually, the chapters are very short for textbook style writing. I have a lot I need to be doing after reading just the first two chapters. I've now added 4 more chapters to my have read list. Pretty good book as far as finding out information about building a library's collection--probably wouldn't recommend this to others outside of the reading/library world though. Anyone is welcome to borrow my copy. |
Review # 2 was written on 2009-05-15 00:00:00 Waymond Jung My first class for becoming a media specialist starts Monday, but I'm such a dork I started reading the textbook as soon as it arrived. I haven't read a college textbook in 8 years, so this seems pretty dry. Hope the class is more interesting! Even though the book is only two years old, many of the recommended links did not work. Even more disturbing is that many of the website URLs had misprints (for example: .eud instead of .edu). If I'm going to pay so much money for a textbook, I expect accurate information. The book often brought up issues which may be problematic for librarians but it did not offer any possible solutions. I do not see myself referring back to this book very often at all. |
