Це була моя перша довга самостійна поїздка, я лишилася від Единбурга в істеричному захваті, він як вигаданий, геть казковий: жила під горою "Престол Короля Артура" й так орієнтувалася містом - ближче до гори значить ближче додому; підземні вулиці з багатоповерховими будинками, замуровані й забудовані згори після чуми; десь на обрії море. Треба якось з'їздити знову, але, боюся, так невимовно прекрасно, як у екзальтовані 18, уже не буде, тому ось ностальгую, читаючи про нього. Стівенсон фантастично вміє закрутити фразу, цитати жужмом: * The weather is raw and boisterous in winter, shifty and ungenial in summer, and a downright meteorological purgatory in the spring.
