The history of natural history: An annotated bibliography; a guide to sources of information histories, bibliographies, biographies, library resources, etc. London: Linnean Society of London. Ellen Niehoff Call number: QH15 .B74x 2008 This bibliography reference book looks at nature and the natural world and contains bibliographies and indexes. This would be a good book for the high school level, even though it is a little advanced. I feel that high school libraries should have books that inspire kids to learn more and also challenge them. This book would be good for an advanced biology class or any student who wants to study the natural world in college.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-07-31 00:00:00 Kristi Martinson I enjoyed this book almost as well as the first book in the series. It got me thinking about Medieval Christianity in a new way, especially as it affected the general populace. Missing is any discussion of specifically mystical prayer and practice and how this may have affected ordinary people. My favorite chapter was the one on Medieval "Revivalism"--I'd thought that was a relatively new phenomenon, but can see how it may be rooted a lot deeper, even though the related practices and effects changed through the centuries. However, I might add that the last chapter on Purgatory and Indulgences, and moreover the whole collection of essays on this period do little to change my mind about the overall negative effects of Medieval theologies.
