I enjoyed this book , but only because the author talks about the town that l grew up in, and l enjoyed the historical references . It was interesting to read about the basic founding of the Knollwood section of Short Hills, NJ by Stuart Hartsorn ( my friend’s great grandfather) and the early residents. The author outlines the early development of the area. The church, Christ Church , the old casino which became the Racket’s Club where we had “ memberships”and the older houses in Knollwood that my friends lived in. The rest of the book was a bit boring especially since it was never actually established what line of work in finance the author was actually engaged in. The rest of the book should probably be read by young people going into the financial industry, because history always repeats itself.

What a refreshing read! I enjoyed Dearlove's easy 'newspaper' style of writing and because I am in marketing, I found the '10 easy steps', 'unauthorised' perspective very useful, with Dearlove admitting to having 'plundered a veritable treasure trove of articles as well as several excellent biographies' in writing the 158 page book. The tendency that Branson has of taking on the big guys makes for great reading: 'At Virgin, we have a strategy of using the credibility of our brand to challenge the dominant players in a range of industries where we believe the consumer is not getting value for money' (Richard Branson). Fascinating.
