Review # 1 was written on 2021-05-14 00:00:00 Anil Sharma I definitely don't agree with everything mentioned in this book, but it brings up some good points. It gives dignity to wives who become mothers and manage their homes well. We learn how men and women can be equal even though they are different and have very different strengths and weaknesses. It also talks about how women find purpose in their lives now that there are emancipation and more choices available. Many businesswomen today struggle to find the balance between their work lives and the role they play in their homes. A woman plays a very important part in making her children feel love, confidence and connection as they grow up. This influence shapes the future and quality of persons that we can expect to see in our society.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-06-27 00:00:00 Ryan Verschoore I stumbled across this book by chance not knowing what it was about nor anything about the author. At the start I was generally surprised as it felt like a feminist book, with some misguided misogyny, but still earnest in the wish for more women’s rights. The further I got, however, the more the book drifted into very restricting ideas of femininity and of course odd ideas about “the business of being a woman”. Did I overall agree with the book? No. Did I still enjoy this quick reading session? Absolutely, it was interesting observing how the same stereotypes have prevailed over a hundred years and getting a quick look at the mentality of a different time is always worthwhile.
