Review # 1 was written on 2008-03-12 00:00:00 Barry Vankleeck Fascinating book that will be of interest only to those who are interested in textiles, Peru, fair trade or Taquile Island. Since I am intersted in all of the above I found it fascinataing and informative. The author has visited Taquile Island over a time span of more than 30 years as tourism has changed the islands. She is an intelligent and informed observor and reporter of these changes, both positive and negative. Would love to see an updae - since I visited in 20012 and the book ends in 2002.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-08-25 00:00:00 Gary Sugerman Seems to be the first book that truly begins to cover the New York Crowd with any thoroughness...would truly like to have seen representative works by all the painters covered (perhaps in a series of addenda???) Otherwise an invaluable book for reference of that most fruitful ten years in American (and perhaps world) art history. --Odona Pt. Pleasant, PA USA
