Review # 1 was written on 2019-04-15 00:00:00 Martin Hernandez Unlike the first three novels in this series, (The Lampitt Papers) this fourth offering lacks their humour, depth of characterisation and narrative interest. A lot of the narrative is tedious and concerned with the Church, theological debate and contraception. One had the feeling that it was written hastily and relies too much on repetition of previous themes and tropes. I like Wilson as a writer and this is my first disappointment. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-05-30 00:00:00 Carolyn Banks I tried, but about 20+ pages into this I gave up. Tedious. |
