Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-22 00:00:00 Kent Yoshida A much needed text for psychology and Foucault studies. The reason why madness has been historically marginalized since the 18th century has to do with a confluence of discourses premised upon state-racism, the prioritizing of reason, and the emergence of empirical forms of epistemology. A first step towards deconstructing disciplinary forms of individuation that underpin a nefarious sort of rationalized power dynamic. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-12-12 00:00:00 Tom Patrick I read this for second year English in college. I'd recommend it for advanced middle school or high school instead. The book contains useful information and some interesting articles, essays, etc., which are given to show examples of this or that type of reasoning. There are many writing exercises as well, and perhaps if my professor had made use of them, I would appreciate this book more... not certain. Decent book, just not challenging or deep enlugh for college, IMO. |
