Review # 1 was written on 2016-12-12 00:00:00 JOACHIM MKENDA It will take you the rest of your life to read it, but if you want your mind blown by what people can do to each other, this is it. The painstaking bureaucratic legality of it all is astounding. They would not just go out and kill people--every murder had to be justified, a reflection of the Will of God. And that isn't easy. This is one of those gorgeous 19th century histories--elegant writing, author's attitude present and unapologetic. A great book. |
