Just bought a 1967 edition of this book at Farwell Books I found it in a section of books they have on sexuality. I am looking forward to reading it. Finished reading this, interesting look at how people thought about these issues in the past.

The book is about the open ocean. Each chapter talks about different parts of the ocean and the animals that live in it. The illustration in this book are actual pictures of the underwater world and some watercolor painted charts that show what the ocean floor looks like. I gave this book 4 stars because the information is very interesting and useful in the classroom setting. It reminded me of a time I went snorkeling in Florida. I enjoyed looking at what lied beneath the boat. This book would be a great introduction when discussing habitats with the class. Students can make a web to show all the different parts of the ocean and the animals that live in it. Because of it's content it could be read aloud for K-3. Grades 3-5 can read it independently, depending on their reading level. Grade:3-5, Lexile:760L, Guided Reading Level: V
