I'm lucky enough to be reading the original book from 1904, that was handed down to me by my Grandmother to my Mother and now to me. Although some of the photos of the art have darkened, it is such a pleasure to open the cloth, gold embossed cover, to see the "The Madonna Di San Sisto" painted by Raphael under a tissue paper vellum page and know that it has been studied & enjoyed for over a 100 years now. I can only wonder if it will be enjoyed in the next 100 years? Or will books like this only be viewed by my children in a virtual 3-D museum?

Didn't read all of it, but I think all that was left were a couple chapters we didn't take up in class. Very informative, really detailed text. Gives you a good sense of what the music is like, and breaks down the songs alongside the text in much detail.
