Review # 1 was written on 2008-01-25 00:00:00 Kimberly Holmes I guess I didn't really understand what exactly this book was. I knew it had info about both CNM and CPM, though I've long decided CPM was the best route for me. I really wanted more clarification on what each pathway involves as I find the info from NARM to be a little confusing. This book bored me too. I realize it is not fiction but I dont think I've ever been bored by a birth related book before. And as someone who can't really stand what Ina May stands for when it comes to the black community, the references to her annoyed me (I'm sure she's a lovely person and yes she brought a lot to the revival of traditional midwifery, but let's remember where the roots of traditional midwifery REALLY stem from in the US). I guess I'll just go back to reading the NARM requirements. |
