Review # 1 was written on 2011-10-08 00:00:00 David Quinterto Letto in una versione Kindle, seguito "naturale" dopo la lettura delle Storie di Polibio. Che dire? Dopo 150 lo studio pubblicato dal Mommsen sicuramente sarà stato sorpassato dai nuovi studi grazie agli apporti delle scoperte archeologiche etc, ma resta sempre un'opera grande, grandiosa, per il respiro, lo sguardo sul mondo classico, la narrazione suadente e carezzevole, l'attualizzazione con il presente (quello del XIX secolo!).
