Y'all have no way of knowing this baby would have been born more than 70 million years ago, people. It's a THEORY, not a fact. Please stop treating it as factual. Other than that, it's a good book, although way too long to read aloud. Recommended for older readers who understand that scientists make up the earth's age... Best part was the project at the end on making your own fossil egg...using eggshells!

Dinosaur Babies by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld was an informational book hidden inside a non-fiction book. Although it is not a traditional informational book it offers so many facts throughout its pages. It tells the reader all about how dinosaurs lay eggs and what the eggs are like. It talks about fossils of babies and the eggs in nests. Then it talks about the dinosaur babies hatching and how the mother cares for them. It explains how they learn things from their mother by watching her just as human babies do. The author then tells about their survival and protection from predators. There are a lot of unanswered questions regarding dinosaurs but this book does a good job explaing some of the information we do know. I think the author did a good job incorporating facts about dinosaurs in a story format. The text was easy to read and wasn't so bulky. The illustrations were nicely drawn and depicted just how I imagine the backgrounds and nests of dinosaurs to be, I think that the text and illustrations complimented each other very well. Overall I think the book was well done but could probably benefit from adding in fun facts or something along those lines to give additional information.
