Review # 1 was written on 2013-07-18 00:00:00 Sharmila Tanapathy Interesting but too-general treatment of the inventions driving the Industrial Revolution through WWI. It gives two major impressions--that inventors tend to be horrible businessmen, and that there was a more exciting time than now when people were devoting their lives and energies to making machines that seemed impossible to make. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-08-20 00:00:00 Volker Franz Admittedly, I did not read this entire book. I would love to do so, but there simply isn't time. What I have read, the chapters about science and feminist epistemologies, was very good. It's not something everyone will pick up, and not something to pick up just because (though I would), since it is dense and theoretical, but I would recommend if if you are interested in feminism and science. |
