I came to this obscure book by way of The Rise and Fall of The Third Reich, where during the final siege or Berlin it is said Hitler would read passages from these books in hopes of pulling off a similar last minute victory as Frederick in the Seven Years War. Besides the link of the character with other famous generals before and after such as Napoleon and Caesar, the book offers an incredibly detailed picture of the western world during the 18th century, foreshadowing the French and American revolutions. If the achievements of Frederick are worth knowing, it is also worth acknowledging the dedication and effort in researching and writing this complete works. If you (understandably) lack the patience to read all 21 volumes, I recommend Volume 19 as the low point and magical turnaround of the Seven Years War.

A quien le interese una serie de ideas banales y estúpidas sobre el rey de Prussia de este viejo historiador, intente leerlo, aunque creo que es imposible.
