Review # 1 was written on 2015-05-08 00:00:00 R. Rivadeneira This book is perfect for those beginners interested in learning a lot in a short space of time. The narrative structure is completely unambiguous and introduces no more characters than needed to tell the story. No economic analysis is given and what the peasants were doing also gets no look in.

Review # 2 was written on 2020-01-05 00:00:00 Thomas Beyer Jacob Abbot has a great tone and style for middle school / high school history. Great descriptions of characters, intricate, definitely not boring. I wish we had more historical biographies written at this level.
