Review # 1 was written on 2008-05-13 00:00:00 Gerald Anderson Ii This book was required reading for my nutrition certification. It is basically business skills 101 for massage therapists. However, as I am neither an aspiring massage therapist nor planning on opening my own wellness practice, most of the information here was useless for me. Even if I had been planning on starting my own practice, I don't think I would have gotten much out of this book. Most of the information is so basic, it should be common sense to anyone who has ever had a job, anywhere. For a book last updated in 2008, it is woefully out of date, with only passing references to current technology. I wanted to throw the book against the wall several times for saying things like, you should organize your business cards in a 3-ring binder, or for extolling the merits of voicemail vs. answering machines. If you're straight out of school and have literally never had a job, you may find some useful advice. Maybe. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-07 00:00:00 Terry Odom This is a great book not just for the mastery of setting up your own business; it also serves and an insight to who you are and what you desire in life. I have used the first several chapters over and over again to review my life - goals - aspirations - achievements etc. In doing so, the start of a new tradition unfolded. As each new year or season begins, I go over my typed responses and see what has happened - my life's purpose - my aspirations -Amazing that so much remains undone while so much has also been accomplished. It was a bit of work to dig deep inside at the start - but the rest of the book was full of fantastic information about starting a business.
