While not as extensive as "Afoot and Afield", this is a great starter. The author provides good descriptions and easy directions. Recommended for the beginner and novice hiker.

Review # 2 was written on 2018-08-01 00:00:00 Robert Musella this book begins with an incorrectly oriented map of san diego; bad directions, maps and outdated descriptions - i'd give this book to someone who would like to swiftly learn to hate hiking and guides to it.
