A cute book using insects and animals to explain the importance of safety and what children should do if they ever get lost. Roonie B. Moonie goes on an adventure and he gets lost in the forest. He gets scared and has to remember what his mother has told him about talking to strangers and staying calm. In the end, a nice ladybug helps Roonie back to his mother and he is safe again. I would recommend using this story to show children what to do if they are lost and how important it is to listen to your parents advice. I enjoy stories that teach life skills and help guide young children.

When it comes to teaching young children about staying safe when playing outside, this storybook by Janan Cain is invaluable! It tells the story of a little bee called Roonie who loves exploring! One day, whilst out exploring, he decides to not listen to one of his safety rule "stay in the open". He becomes scared and lost as a result but listening to the rest of his safety rules, he is able to find his way back safely into his mother's arms. I love that the story includes not goimg somewhere with a person who makes you feel yucky or creepy or uncomfortable even if they seem nice and act nice. There is also a really great 'Note to Parents' in the back. Also, the illustrations are gorgeous! They're bright and bold and colourful!
