Review # 1 was written on 2007-09-26 00:00:00 John Hayes This is a memoir about Tony Towle's ascent into the world of 1960s poetry. It is a quick read, and definitely enchanting. As a novice poet, he crosses paths with such greats as Allen Ginsberg, John Ashbery, and Frank O'Hara, almost by accident, as if fate played a role. My only issue with it is that the author comes off a bit naive at times, and somewhat distant from the experiences which he is writing about. |
