Review # 2 was written on 2015-05-25 00:00:00 Craig Rittenhouse This is really more of a 3.5, but I'm generous so gave it a 4. I started reading it because, originally from Texas, I've not been back there for a holiday in awhile, and I wanted to see it as a tourist, not as a local. The problem is of course that they will list a lot of tourist things. They mention all the "great" bars in Austin, for instance, but fail to mention Lala's. If you want a real treasured dive, try there. It was an enjoyable read, and I did learn about the parts of Texas I don't really know (it's a big state), but be prepared for repetition, as you sometimes get with these books.
