I've read many parenting books, and this one by far was the most impactful, insightful, and life changing without being prescriptive, formulaic, or guilt-inducing. It was truly eye-opening and humbling. And I'm so grateful to have realized and faced truths about myself and my upbringing through this book. It feels truly liberating. It's not a light read, though, and I've had to put it down periodically to process my emotions in between. The truth will set you free, but at first it might be hard to swallow. This one was deep.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-10-26 00:00:00 Curtis Bottoms Liked: Ideas for educational games at each age level. Did not like: There was nothing groundbreaking as far as explanation of cognitive development. "Your child can and must learn a lot before they enter grade school" Really?? Thanks.
