Review # 1 was written on 2016-08-22 00:00:00 Francis Horn The seventh volume of Carr's Universe series of original short speculative fiction contained eight stories. The Fritz Leiber and Carter Scholz stories are quite good, and I also enjoyed the ones written by George Alec Effinger and Robert Chilson. I don't remember the one by Julian Reid, but thought the ones by Gene Wolfe, R.A. Lafferty, and Brian W. Aldiss were representative of their distinctive styles. Universe was a consistently satisfying series.

Review # 2 was written on 2012-09-16 00:00:00 Donald Tengquist A thought-provoking anthology of short stories, novelettes, what-have-you. Each of these is fine writing, although I don't have the right brain to follow all of them. Favorite story: The Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven and Other Lost Songs by Carter Scholz
