I haven't read a lot of Silhouette books. I grew up with the British Mills & Boon and didn't come across the American series until recently when I started looking for older romances on-line. This was on a list of romances with reunions where the heroes remained celibate so of course I was interested. The hero, Wyatt, is a big time American football player who has recently retired to run his chain of sports stores he started with the money from his contracts. Kristin is a school teacher who has started a street school in a rough part of San Antonio to help kids get educated who might otherwise fall through the cracks. The two parted five years ago because Kristin couldn't cope with the dangers of Wyatt's job, exacerbated by her brother sustaining a life threatening injury on the field. Now Wyatt is moving to San Antonio and he wants her back. The story is quite simple from there. Can they overcome the hurts of the past and make a future. Kristin doesn't think so as she has made a new life with new dreams. It's rather sweet how the two work through these and how neither of them was really the bad person. A nice satisfying ending. The descriptions of the 80's clothes she wears are interesting and while Wyatt is obviously wealthy, it isn't a big deal in the scheme of things.

Ok...so, a man who actually takes his vows seriously. They've been separated for five years, but he didn't cheat. Wanna know why? 'Cause they're still married. A hero with some degree of integrity, finally! Aside from that...the book is okay. It's written for the time in which it was written...late 80s, but it still manages to not totally grate at the nerves. I'm done. Ok. It was....good-ish. :-) You know, it was a dollar; so, I'm okay with it just being ok. Actually, I buy 10 at a time so it was really 50 cents!! Well, that just makes it better. A sweet, touching romance in wich the formerly immature, impulsive, needy heroine grows up and actually admits to her mistakes. The hero also grows up, took him five years, and sets out winning back his wife whom he never stopped loving and, as previously mentioned, did not cheat on...although, I guess a case could be made for his dates.
