This is the US history book the State Department recommends when studying for the FSOT. Granted, I am a nerd for this stuff, but it is also really good. I learned so much more than in any other history book. Gave equal time to all the different social, racial and religious groups without being excessively PC or pandering. The only way this book could've been better was if they covered the French and Indian War more thoroughly. Fascinating. P.S. It worked; I passed the exam.
