Review # 1 was written on 2010-11-29 00:00:00 Sara Goldfeder Inspiring, thoughtful and not prescriptive, with more stories of Michigan families (authors live and work in MI)that give hope and guidance. I got this from MelCat--but think I might actually buy this one--I'd read it again and refer to it--probably should write down the ten commitments and see if I can aspire to them both at home and at work--just makes sense. One of the statements in there that gave me pause, is that we are really raising our children on how to be parents--modeling the message and committing to seeing children as teachers-remember, remember, remember:) Loved it! |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-01-17 00:00:00 Mark Cross Parenting books seem to be a habit for me. I find the vast majority to be an oversimplification of real family life and a bit annoying, but I keep reading away for the few gems. This book is one of them. It outlines 10 areas where parents can improve without being overwhelming or unrealistic. I found real things I can do to improve my parenting based on sound principles. This is a book I will return to in the future. |
