Review # 1 was written on 2019-01-11 00:00:00 Angela Armonda I studied some of these poems in senior English class at school, and recall liking one or two of them. I'm not an avid reader of poetry, but I do suspect that a good subset of these poems just aren't very good. For example, arranging words strangely on a page (unusual numbers of spaces, tabs &c.) doesn't produce poetry. I know that much. Today I'm discarding my paperback copy of this compendium, which my father helped me to cover in transparent non-adhesive plastic (just like a hardcover library book). It's a pleasure to hold.

Review # 2 was written on 2018-04-19 00:00:00 John Fremont Waiting to finish this when I find a copy in Australia, borrowed to acquaint myself with literary history before arrival. Vast range of work in here decidedly favouring the modern, lyrical & colloquial. Looking forward to returning to it so I can add the extra star.
