Review # 1 was written on 2013-10-27 00:00:00 Kanjanapol Kathong Published in 1987, this book has dated to the extent that it's barely useful as a guidebook any more. The capsule histories of each town are entertaining since they're written with attitude and humor, but other books go into more detail and are better suited for research. One of this book's owners helpfully went through an annotated this copy, crossing off all the restaurants and lodgings that are gone, so it's an artifact of the 80s as well as of the Gold Country.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-11-01 00:00:00 Frances Poel Skimmed through this and enjoyed what I read. It is the perfect size to take backpacking, also.
