Wow, I was so surprised by this book! I checked it out from my library as one of the only books they had available about teaching preschool age children and despite it being dated and about the UK, there was so much useful information! The book provided lesson plans and advice and never tired from its theme of how important it is to children's growth that they develop a love for science, design, and technology. I loved the specific activity ideas as well as the in-depth explanations on the idea behind each new suggestion. I was particularly surprised and encouraged by the treatment of race and gender in the book, and that the authors went out of their way to be inclusive and to encourage inclusivity in their education. The references are probably outdated and I only skimmed through the appendix, but with a wealth of information and a very readable writing style (even humorous at times), this was a great read to prepare for a job in child care.
