This was a quick, funny read. True birders will probably get even more amusement out of it than I did - I "screened it," if you will, as a gift for family members who are birders. It truly follows a field guide format with a wide variety of funny fowl. Enjoyable and light-hearted.

Do you want to out-do your birding friends? Who doesn't? Using this field guide you will far exceed the normal amount of birds seen regularly. You may find the observation hints provided for some of the birds helpful. As an example, here is the hint provided for the Rear-Tailed Evader: When you think you have seen an Evader, be confident, and sing out to your b irding companions:" "I just saw a Rear-Tailed Evader." DO NOT ALLOW ANY DOUBT TO CREEP INTO YOUR VOICE. Also noted for this bird is that a field guide is not needed. Nickname: It-just-flew. Best identified quickly and without requiring too much burdensome information such as field marks. Be the envy of every "Big Year"birder.
