Review # 1 was written on 2012-07-15 00:00:00 Nathan Luce "Laura Keene: A Biography" by Ben G. Henneke is a fairly quick read about the nineteenth-century actress who appeared in "Our American Cousin" when President Lincoln was assassinated at Ford's Theater. The book is a "Vasari-esque" biography of the actress. Henneke provides a good overview of her life, but his language is a little too flowery.
