Review # 1 was written on 2014-06-04 00:00:00 Kristina S. Langan It's really not all that "new" anymore, published in 2003. But I would definitely call this book a photography encyclopedia. It has everything you'd ever want to know about photography and more. It's a wonderful resource for tips and strategies on how to set your camera and compose a shot under any type of conditions. It's definitely a more technical book, but has great explanations of photography terms as well as a rather extensive glossary. Beginners can benefit from certain sections in this book, but it also has a lot of information for more professional photographers including sections on studio equipment and actual dark room film development. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-06-18 00:00:00 Michael Clauson BIG book with lots of information. I've owned it for years but never really opened it. Finally took a scan through it today as i was looking for specifics on portraiture. Love how he's got lighting/studio sketches for photo shoots and results pictures with captions that clearly articulate what the photo is representing. Covers a broad list of topics, from film to composure to lighting. Great refernce guide for any photographers library. |
