Groenenberg Cerulo's theory of positive asymmetry is really interesting, and this was my first introduction, and a good one, into the realm of cognitive sociology. It's particularly interesting to note the synthesis of nature vs. nurture in this field.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-05-08 00:00:00 Jeffrey Frajman Sometimes the author beats you over the head with her view that humans are conditioned to avoid considering the "worst-case." That being said, the author makes an excellent point about the tendency to downplay the worst-case scenario, and the resulting troubles.
