an older anthology - with some amazing writers and some who are very unknown to me.

A terrific collection of Iroquois writing! Contemporary writers include John Mohawk (Senaca), Maurice Kenny (Mohawk) and my personal favorite (and new discovery thanks to 'Voices'), Roberta Hill Whiteman (Oneida). There is no forward to the collection, which would have been nice especially considering Maurice Kenny is also a contributing editor, and the creation of the collection and its importance could have been touched upon. However, the individual authors have included their own short introductions which were quite interesting and oftentimes also funny and friendly. A must-have for those interested in modern Native American literature.
