Review # 1 was written on 2007-10-26 00:00:00 Lee Hoyle Charles Turzak showed a lot of skill in the woodcut medium, much more than many other, more well-known woodcut novelists, in my opinion. He manages to balance detail, clarity, and symbolism in this wordless novel. The fact that each woodcut was given a subject title also adds a great deal of clarity not seen in most woodcut novels. |
Review # 2 was written on 2008-11-01 00:00:00 Robert Booton I read this book shortly after it was published, and reviewed it for an expressive culture course in anthropology. The book is visually stunning, well-written, and offers profound insights from the point of view of Native American scholars. Absolutely loved it. |
