Richard Bandler is the co-founder of neuro linguistic programing. NLP is a technique that uses certain representational systems (the different parts composing a person) and the power of language to change behaviors at will by changing the meaning of the context of these behaviors. The subject of NLP is still of interest to me but this book was not the right place to start. The book is a compilation of transcripts of workshops lead by Bandler some 35 years ago and not easy to understand by people who do not already have a certain knowledge of the so called 6 steps reframing technique. There was a time when I just had to finish every book I started. Since I realized that there are simply too many books out there to be read in one lifetime I decided to stop wasting my time with books that I didn't like. So, I did not finish this one. And the voice of Bandler sounded arrogant and manipulative; that was a major turn off for me.

Interesting self-help book that guides you into "reframing" any situation - the meaning of any situation depends upon the "frame" in which it is perceived. For example: I used to get disgusted - almost angry because I was constantly having to drag the vacuum out due to the profuse shedding of my doggies. This book helped me to be grateful for the hairy mess. Would I rather have my precious girls and hair on the floor or a spotless carpet with no pets and loneliness?
