Review # 2 was written on 2018-08-11 00:00:00 Brian Jackson I THINK this is the book I read: there are several with similar titles. There's no doubt I would have sought this book out for its title. But I would have read it for its history of this barrier island and of the Gullah speakers there and of their lore. That said, I have difficulty separating out in my mind what I learned from this book and from other sources on the same or related subject(s). I should probably reread it, if I can get hold of a copy.
