Astonishingly bad given its release date of 1994, when so many better and informed writings on Taichi already existed. So no excuse really for this appalling series of stiff photos (of which only about 4 are of Carradine adopting rigid and unrelated poses in what appears to be a silk bath robe). Putting aside the graphics, the content is at best superficial, at worse misleading - such as : "when you pick up something from the ground, bend at the waist, keep back straight and knees locked. " But it's not just because the information is poor (it's merely standard) but that the book falls into the same trap that many other books do: the use of stiff models to demonstrate the moves. This makes the postures appear rigid, and the practitioner tense. Two qualities that Taichi - theoretically at least- exists to counter.
