Review # 1 was written on 2013-04-21 00:00:00 ANNA WADE When I first started reading this book, I had some problems with the mystical, dreamy, roundabout way it was written. As I got deeper into the story, I had some problems with the foundational premise of the plot. By the end of the book, I really liked it though! This book tells the story of Rob, a boy whose sister is in a coma due to an accident. Rob's family, of course, has difficulty dealing with this situation. From there, the story intertwines bits of Welsh mythology and pieces of modern psychology as well as a bit of adventure and intrigue to make an interesting story with the deep theme of personal responsibility. I especially enjoyed the book's emphasis on the importance and power of words which I agree with and the tie in's with Welsh mythology which I have found in a lot of the books that I have read recently.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-10-25 00:00:00 Georgia Null Okay. For more than half of this book, I couldn't stand it. I was like okay let me read this quick and get it over with because I cannot wait for it to be done. It was boring, it was too descriptive with all the trees and the plants and I was just plain bored. But then, all of a sudden, towards the last half of the book, it picked up like you have no idea. And my eyes were glued to the pages. I then wanted to read it fast because I was dying to know what happened. I didn't put it down until the end. I am very happy I stuck with this book. It was super hard to get into, but it was SO worth it and it had a wonderful meaning to it. It was just beautiful. Not to mention, Catherine Fisher's depiction of the Unworld was truly amazing. If you are into mythology and fantasy books, please give this one a chance.
