Review # 1 was written on 2018-02-10 00:00:00 JuanCarlos Planas This little book was a gift from my NYC friend Sara del Pino. She had given it to me in 2016, or 2017 after I had looked and skimmed through it at her home on the Upper West Side. Enjoyed it. Above all, the poems by Loynaz, Pinero, and Guillen, whom I knew already. Lezama, I have to admit, has always been challenging for me, both his prose and his few poems in this book. Ballagas, Baquero, and Fdez Retamar were first for me in this book. Good ones. Retamar's "Los Feos" I found sublime.
