[ Actually, while I don't agree with Dorothy Cork's philosophy of finding a man to take care of you, in this case I think it's necessary. Heroine is TSL - all caps TSL. She leaves home with a guy she barely knows and is surprised when he puts the moves on her while sharing a hotel room. She hitchhikes and tries to endure the trucker's hand on her thigh until she can give him the slip at a rest area. She goes in cold looking for jobs in the middle of nowhere, with no public transportation and finds nothing. Once the hero tracks her down and installs her in his home to give her time to think (Think? What's that? Her monologues are tediously circular, always going back to how much she "hates" the hero), she manages to fall off a cliff and get stranded after her car runs out of gas. The hero rescues her from both predicaments and finally they have their happy ending. (hide spoiler)]

I must be in the minority, but I did not enjoy this one at all. The heroine was a young 19 year old woman that frankly acted like she was 12. Because the heroine was so immature, I felt threads of pedophilia throughout the story. This probably wasn't written in a time where the fear of young women being abducted really existed, but unfortunately it does today. So I had one more reason for the creeps. Sadly, her father was out in la-la land, only interested in getting it on with his second younger wife rather than helping his daughter cross over into adulthood. Another strike against the story. Basically, all around not my cup of tea. I did finish it, but it was a chore.
